View South from Yosemite Falls, Original watercolor SOLD at the Pence Gallery Annual Art Sale in Davis, CA.

I love the calm and vastness of the desert environment. This original watercolor was painted from a reference photo I took during a college trip through the Mohave Desert. I love the way the vegetation draws one to the beckoning mountain. Image size: 11" x 15" $300

I love Point Reyes NP and it contains an abundant source of imagery for painting in watercolor. I snapped a reference photo at Abbotts Lagoon while on a hike. I later painted the beautiful scene. SOLD

This is an intuitively painted floral. I started with a light warm color and worked outward from the center of interest, painting darks against lights to create a surprise. This painting was accepted into the California Watercolor Association's juried members show: "Illusion of LIght" 2021 14.5" x 22" watercolor on paper $450

About Allison Spreadborough
Allison Spreadborough is a landscape painter residing in Sacramento, California. On her hikes and travels in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and National Parks, she frequently paints in her nature journal or en plein air. The Sierra reveals an abundant source of imagery and wonder and has inspired Allison to hike all of the Yosemite High Sierra Camps, most of the John Muir Trail and to backpack the Tahoe Rim Trail twice. Spreadborough received her formal art training at CSUS and two local community colleges. She improved her training with private instruction from several National watercolor masters and developed a dreamlike expressionist style of painting. The importance of granulating pigment is notable in her work as is the use of a wet-into-wet watercolor technique.
Because Allison is passionate about watercolor, she created and administers a popular Facebook group, Northern California Watercolor Artists. In 2022, she was awarded a four week long artist-in-residence at O'Hanlon Center for the Arts in Mill Valley, CA. Also in 2022 her painting “Off Heeser Street, Mendocino”, was accepted in the California Watercolor Association’s (CWA) prestigious 52nd National Exhibition in Pleasanton, CA.
Allison's work is included in several permanent public collections and numerous private collections.
