c.1890's-1910 West African Indigo Textile - natural indigo dye from plants and old dye vats create the beautiful indigo color. The depth of the color determines how many times the textile was processed in the dye. ModCloth or Indigo is still made today however, the dye used is now synthetic.

c.1950-1960"s Barkcloth Cube Pillow
Flea market upcycle fabric with custom made insert filled with new fiber fill fluff. Barkcloth was a common textile used in home fashion from 1930-1960's. The nubby texture resembles tree bark, hence, Barkcloth. Most were all cotton like this one.

About Eden Saalsaa
Olden - Sustainable Artisan Made Goods for Your Home Using Authentic Vintage Textiles.
A third generation sewist with a passion for old fabric. While I have made a lot of stuff over the years including doll clothes and wedding dresses to costumes & ballet tutus I realized old fabrics kept appearing in my closets and sewing supplies (unused). Every antique store, flea market and estate sale I went to I was drawn to these textiles.
During the covid lay off I finally got to all of the wonderful old fabrics I had collected and this is when Olden came to life. I never went back.
