About Jacquie Tyrell
I began working in clay in the late 1990s. I found a home, a place to explore a previously unknown creative part of myself. In the past I worked with clay mainly during the summer. A fellow artist once told me that working in clay is like Hawaii for me: a place to go and relax during the summer heat. The universe has provided me with the blessing of my own studio allowing me to work in clay year-round.
I enjoy working with texture. I am always looking for objects to use to create texture in clay. I use a combination of natural elements such as rocks, shells, pinecones and manmade elements such as lace and stamps. In my travels, I enjoy finding different objects to bring home and incorporate into my art.
I hope you enjoy my works as much as I enjoy creating them.
