Roma Devanbu is a compulsive maker.   Her work explores, and celebrates, the human propensity to make and decorate and how this reveals our values, beliefs and desires.   Devanbu works in a wide variety of 2D mediums and materials, as well as publicly interactive and collaborative installations. Many of her cut paper works can be seen in the collections of California hospitals.

Devanbu earned her BFA at Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA at Pratt Institute. She spent a formative year studying Art History at the M.S. University of Baroda in India.  Devanbu taught fine art on the college level for many years before shifting to a full time studio practice in 2013.  Devanbu is a studio resident at Verge Center for the Arts and is an active member of Axis Gallery.
