This painting is offered for sale at the 2021 KVIE Art Auction in October

View South from Yosemite Falls, Original watercolor SOLD at the Pence Gallery Annual Art Sale in Davis, CA.

This original watercolor was painted from a refernce photo of the imposingly beautiful Lembert Dome, Yosemite. My husband and I were fortunate to win the High Sierra Camps lottery to hike in the Tuolumne Meadows area of Yosemite around Lembert Dome. It was an incredible experience to hike in beauty each day and stay at six different camp sites. Image size is 15" x 17.25". $500

I love the calm and vastness of the desert environment. This original watercolor was painted from a reference photo I took during a trip through the Mohave Desert. I love the way the vegetation draws one to the beckoning mountain. Image size: 11" x 15" $300

This original watercolor was painted on location at Noyo Harbor in Fort Bragg. I loved that from where I sat painting, the cliff to the left seemed to have a thumb shaped rock sticking out of it. The other rocks were interesting as well and it was a lot of fun to share in the morning activity of the harbor. Painted on archival cotton paper. Image size: 11" x 15" $300 This painting has the distinction of being selected into the 2020 WASH Open Watercolor Exhibition, juried by Dale Laitinin. SOLD at Verge Art Auction 2020

I love Point Reyes NP and it is an abundant source of imagery for painting in watercolor. I snapped a reference photo at Abbotts Lagoon while on a hike. I later painted the beautiful scene. SOLD

This painting won 3rd Place in the California Watercolor Associations juried members show: "Illusion of Light" 2021. 15" x 22" watercolor on paper $995

This is an intuitively painted floral. I started with a light warm color and worked outward from the center of interest, painting darks against lights to create a surprise. This painting was accepted into the California Watercolor Association's juried members show: "Illusion of LIght" 2021 14.5" x 22" watercolor on paper $450

Allison Spreadborough is a landscape and botanical painter residing in Sacramento, California. On her hikes and travels in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and National Parks, she frequently paints in her nature journal or en plein air. The Sierras reveal an abundant source of imagery and wonder and have inspired Allison to hike all of the Yosemite High Sierra Camps, most of the John Muir Trail and to backpack the Tahoe Rim Trail twice.
Spreadborough received her formal art training at California State University, Sacramento and two local community colleges. She improved her training with private instruction from several National watercolor masters and developed a dreamlike expressionist style of painting. The importance of granulating pigment is notable in her work as is the use of a wet-into-wet watercolor technique.
Allison has exhibited at CSUS, Sacramento, American River College; Sacramento City College and numerous group shows. Her work is included in several permanent public collections and numerous private collections. She is a member the American Watercolor Society, California Art Club, California Plein Air Painters, California Watercolor Association, and the National Watercolor Society.
In 2019, Allison was awarded a month-long artist-in-residence at the Bauhaus inspired residency at Pond Farm. Pond Farm is located at Austin Creek State Recreation Area in Armstrong Redwoods State National Reserve, Northern California.
