About Kelly Graves
B.A. in Studio Art from UC Riverside, M.Ed. in Art Education and Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art from University of LaVerne. I have been an art teacher for over 20 years, specializing in ceramics and sculpture. I currently teach ceramics at Elk Grove High School.
My journey with art making has always been one of experimentation and exploration. I never take my art or myself too seriously - there is always an element of fun and funk in whatever I do. I have a love for creating creatures in clay, and most of my recent works are an exploration of fantasy, abstraction, and playfulness. The abstraction of form is a purposeful one, leaving room for the viewer to contemplate the relationship between what is real, what is possible, and what is purely imaginary.
