AMARIGINAL ART
Drawing, Interdisciplinary, Mixed Media, Painting, Public Art, Sculpture

A surreal Afrofuturism portrait focusing on the elements and sacred bodies: celestials, water and Earth. The painting connects themes of matriarchy, serenity, humanity, the wisdom of trees, and transition. The work of art also hints at the reverence of Black hair and the tradition of adorning one's own natural crown.

About AMARIGINAL ART
My work as a Contemporary and Afrofuturism Visual Artist expresses themes of matriarchy, indigeneity, antiquity, mythology, prosperity, navigation, spirituality and technology. These themes are influenced by my perspectives on being a woman of the African Diaspora.
The primary medium I utilize is acrylic, however, I produce mixed-medium works of art. In my creative process, most of my work on canvas begins as a sketched idea or a digital rendering.
Materials often found in my work are: reclaimed wooden blocks, metal, jewels, glass, glitter and luminous pigments which symbolize luxury, an ethereal state of being or to convey an organic texture. I predominantly make my work on canvas but enjoy using other surfaces.
