About Ann Brinkley

Blooms and Bungalows are my passion!  I am exploring life's joy through my current series of colorful floral still lifes, landscapes and mid-century houses. My acrylic paintings on canvases and mixed media on wood panels bring a sense of fun, whimsy and a touch of sarcasm to everyday life. Each arrangement of flowers and their vases creates a conversation bursting with personality and charm. I experience them as my pets… talking back to me with their innocent wisdom and sense of humor.

Mid century houses on wood panels have dyed tissue & painted papers. These are infused in the artwork creating a soft texture and depth to the flat panels.

I was brought home from the hospital to an Eichler home in 1956. My father worked as the estimator for Joe Eichler and built some of the first Eichler tracks in Palo Alto. My mother loved to decorate and create artistic and colorful table settings. I remember her making these huge brightly colored tissue paper flowers for the dining table centerpieces. 

You could say my artwork is the pursuit to achieve the perfect culmination of both my parent's blend of their artistic esthetics.
