About Aniela Pietrasz Leung

As a mother and an artist, I’m preoccupied with time: the passage of time, our changing perception of it, what is lost and gained, what I fear.

Much of what I do is about childhood and motherhood, and innocence. I’ve been particularly obsessed with innocence since childhood.

I paint using oils and traditional techniques, mostly from direct observation, sometimes imagination. Many paintings end up being vessels for feelings and memories, an expression of my interior life.

I began painting in the fall of 2023.
