This piece is loosely based on my photo of a scene on the Oregon coast. I wanted this image to be lush and filled with color, joy & energy. And with my stamped and stenciled imagery, I also tried to create a sense of whimsy, hope & wonder. We need beauty and hope now more than ever.

About Carole Rossi
I live and work in Sacramento. My path as an artist proceeded alongside a satisfying career as a lawyer specializing in higher education. My lawyer training strengthened my analytical ability, organizational skills and patience – all of which has helped me as an artist! My joy and passion as a textile artist has also been enriched by my exploration of art movements and artists past and present.
Currently, I use improvisational piecing, collage techniques, painting on fabric and printing in my work, creating abstract and fanciful representational images, often loosely based on my photographs of places well-travelled and loved, or about social or political issues of concern to me. Concentrating on the color, line, shape and structure of my designs, I try to communicate the essence of my experience to the viewer. One single line or shape of an image often serves as the starting point or inspiration for my work. Every day I learn something new through my art and I am so excited to share my creations with others!
