About Ianna Frisby

Ianna Frisby is an art professor at Sacramento City College and studio artist at Verge Center for the Arts located in downtown Sacramento. As an educator, she continuously enjoys learning and applying all things clay whether it be in the building stages, decorating surfaces or special firings. The thrill is in exploring and discovering unconventional materials and techniques that stretch the boundaries and push against the expected and predictable. She received her BFA from Humboldt State University in 1998 and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2005. She was the recipient of the Leff-Davis Fund for Visual Artists of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation in 2016 and The Creative Initiative Grant for Art Advice Booth Project in 2018.
