Jason Edmonds is a ceramic artist and educator based in Northern California. Originally from Mississippi, his work is shaped by Southern folk traditions, handmade objects, rural material culture, and his background in anthropology and archaeology. He has worked in wood-fired ceramics for over a decade, creating functional and sculptural pieces with custom clay bodies and long atmospheric firings. Jason works as a ceramics technician, ceramics instructor, and anthropology instructor at the community college level. His ceramics explore historical pottery traditions, biology, labor, and the material transformations produced through wood firing.
